Arfa Karim, the world’s youngest Microsoft professional and a Pakistani by nationality was among the most influential, inspiring and extraordinary personalities of her time. Arfa is a name of a girl that had hope, dreams and God gifted intelligence that made her the youngest Microsoft professional at an age of 9, she was a one in a million kind of a person, the kind that is not born twice.
Arfa represented Pakistan on many international forums such as in the TechEd Developers Conference. In 2008, Arfa won the title of “The World’s Youngest Microsoft Certified Professional”, she was also awarded “Pride of Pakistan” and was even invited by Bill Gates to make a visit to Microsoft Headquarters in the US.
A science park in Lahore has been named after her as a tribute to her efforts and the name she had made for the country.
Arfa gave a message of confidence to young girls, a message that anything is possible if you think it is, and if we dig deeper into the life of Arfa Karim we can find out, that she never lost hope, she was a fighter, a dreamer and above all, a believer.
Arfa Karim Randhawa left us on 14 January 2012, due to a cardiac arrest.Her death was indeed a great loss to Pakistan, a void that cannot be filled.
