The Right Hijab Color For Your Skin Tone

We all are really cautious and picky when it comes to choosing the right colour combinations for our outfits or attires. Likewise, if you are a hijabi, you should consider wearing a hijab that complements your skin tone and does not make you look odd.

We at “Nevermind” believe that you should always wear colours that seem to blend with your skin tone, but that’s just our choice of colour combination. Keep reading to find out which colour hijab is right for you!

Three main type of Skin tones :

  • Neutral
  • Fair
  • Dark

1-NEUTRAL SKIN TONE

A neutral skin tone is a mixture of both dark and light skin tones and it’s neither too dark nor too fair. However there is not a single representation of a neutral skin tone, despite the variations, we’ll be giving a general example.

MAROON HIJAB

A maroon hijab colour is best suited with a neutral complexion, it’s neither too vibrant nor too dark. This hijab is from Voile Chic

BEIGE HIJAB

All sorts of complexions can carry nude-colored hijabs. Beige Hijabs look great on neutral skin tones, moreover, if you’re choosing nude hijabs and you have a neutral skin tone it is best if you choose lighter shades of Nude.

BLACK HIJAB

Black hijabs are the most common colour worn by every Hijabi and I personally think it looks great on every skin tone, but to be more specific a neutral tone can be enhanced further by wearing a Black hijab. Fair tones tend to look even fairer and Darker tones look darker, therefore, it is preferred for neutral tones. This hijab is from Inayah.

SKY BLUE HIJAB

One of my favourite colors is sky blue. A sky blue Hijab can be worn by both Fair skin tones and Neutral tones.

2- FAIR SKIN TONE

There are lots of variations in a fair skin tone aswell, but I’ll describe what Hijab suites a fair skin tone generally.

NUDE PINK HIJAB

Soft colors go best with fairer skin tones. Nude pink can also be worn by medium to dark skin tones although it best suits pale complexions.

YELLOW HIJAB

Yellow color beautifully enhances the natural tone of your face giving it warmth.

OFF WHITE HIJAB

White, just like black is a standard color that goes almost with every skin tone depending on your face shape, features etc. However, I prefer off-white for fairer skin tones as it gives a graceful appearance.

GREY HIJAB

Grey is a soft color and it’s for skin tones that won’t look dull once a grey hijab is worn. The fair or pink tones can carry a grey hijab due to their fair complexion which won’t get dull even by wearing a dull color.

3- DARK SKIN TONES

Dark skin tones although having variations can choose to wear the same colors of hijab. Here are few of the colors that go best with darker skin tones.

DARK RED HIJAB

Of all the shades of red, Dark red is what suits the dark complexion best, it is a truly deep color that can get along with darker complexions.

DARK GREY HIJAB

Shades of the hijab should be worn according to your skin tone, previously mentioned light grey was for fairer skin tones, in the same way, dark grey is for deep skin tones.

PASTEL PURPLE HIJAB

Pastel colors look extraordinary with dark skin tones, especially if you go for darker shades like blue, purple or green.

As I’ve already mentioned before, girls with darker skin tones should wear darker shades (but not too dark) this is because if you wear lighter colors it will make you look even darker and if you wear super dark colors they’ll start giving you a harsh look.

Don’t know where to find these shades? Look no further! We design our very own Hijabs.
